Slangsprout.com (referred to as “Site” or “SlangSprout”) is owned and operated by Semantic Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 88 629 081 876) (referred to as “Semantic Ventures”, “We”, “Our”) and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”) in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 (Act). We are committed to complying with the Act, and this privacy policy has been published in order to meet its requirements.

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, the cookies that are installed on your device, and where you have opted in; we may also collect information about you. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal and device information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from semantic-ventures.com (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy is to be read in conjunction with the ‘Terms of Use’. We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time and post any updates on this page. Please review this Privacy Policy regularly so that you are updated on any changes.

By using our website, you (the visitor) agree to allow third parties to process your IP address, in order to determine your location for the purpose of currency conversion. You also agree to have that currency stored in a session cookie in your browser (a temporary cookie which gets automatically removed when you close your browser). We do this in order for the selected currency to remain selected and consistent when browsing our website so that the prices can convert to your (the visitor) local currency.

 

USE, DISCLOSURE & MANAGEMENT OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

ONLINE LINKS TO THIRD PARTY AND CO-BRANDED SITES

SlangSprout may establish relationships with business partners that allow visitors to our website to link directly to websites operated by these partners. Some of these websites may be “co-branded” with our logo; however, these sites may not be operated or maintained by or on Semantic Ventures’ behalf. These websites may collect personal information from you that may be shared with us. This Privacy Policy will apply to any personal information we obtain in this manner.

SlangSprout is not responsible for the content or practices of websites operated by third parties that are linked to our websites. These links are meant for the user’s convenience only. Links to third party sites do not constitute sponsorship, endorsement or approval by Semantic Ventures of the content, policies or practices of those third party websites. MARKETING MAILING LISTS

Unless we have your consent, we will not disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. However, Semantic Ventures may use your personal information to inform you of recent developments, or provide you with newsletter articles or upcoming event details. If we add your details to one of our own marketing mailing lists, you may unsubscribe from that list by selecting the ‘unsubscribe’ option in the communications you receive. WHAT WE COLLECT, HOW AND WHY

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

SlangSprout collects, holds and uses this information for a range of different purposes related to our functions and activities, and for related purposes (see below). Usually, the context or communications at the time of collection will determine the primary purposes of collection.

We hold your information indefinitely. For EU and UK residents, we hold your information until you request that we erase your data.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT INTERNET PRIVACY
